Research Themes: Industrial Policy, Trade, and Finance

The 2026 Industrial Policies Conference examines how industrial policy works in a global economy shaped by trade, financial markets, and cross-border production networks.

Conference topics include the role of financial frictions in industrial policy effectiveness, trade finance and export credit, firm participation in global value chains, strategic trade policy, international spillovers, and the interaction between subsidies, tariffs, and multinational financing.

The research agenda connects applied macroeconomics, international trade, financial economics, development, and political economy. Adrien Matray and the organizing team designed the conference to encourage dialogue between international economists, financial economists, and macroeconomists.
